Paperweight Systems LLC

Paperweight is self-hosted software: each station runs on the creator's own machine, with its own local database. Paperweight Systems LLC does not operate the servers that run creator stations and does not have access to the media, listener accounts, or payment data any individual station stores.

What This Policy Covers

This policy covers data collected by Paperweight Systems LLC directly — the marketing/download website, the optional hosted directory and tunnel service ("system.pape" / paperweighthq.com), and optional phone-home telemetry a creator can enable in their own station.

It does not cover data an individual creator's self-hosted station collects from their own listeners (accounts, tokens, payment records, analytics) — that data lives entirely on the creator's own server and is governed by whatever policies that creator publishes, not by Paperweight Systems LLC.

Download Page

The download page may capture an email address if you choose to enter one (it is optional, not required to download). If provided, it is used only to send release/setup updates you've opted into, and is never sold or shared with third parties.

We also record basic, non-identifying attribution data (platform selected, referrer, UTM parameters) to understand which channels bring people to the download page.

Optional Hosted Services

If a creator opts into the public station directory, the hosted tunnel (paperweighthq.com subdomain), or telemetry reporting, their station sends a small set of station-level metrics (name, slug, listener counts, track counts, version) to Paperweight Systems LLC's infrastructure. This is entirely opt-in and off by default — see `docs/system-pape-directory.md` in the Paperweight source for the technical detail of what is sent.

Cookies And Tracking

The marketing/download website does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. A lightweight, first-party visit beacon (no cookies) records the page path and referrer for our own funnel measurement.

Your Choices

To stop receiving update emails, use the unsubscribe mechanism in the email itself, or contact us (see Support). To stop a station from reporting telemetry, disable it in that station's own dashboard — this is entirely under the creator's control, not ours.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
